CRUISE

Day 1 : TANA – ANTSIRABE (169km)

Departure at 10 a.m, crossing the landscape of the High Plateau to join the “town of water”, Antsirabe. A stop at Ambatolampy to visit the traditional workshop making pottery in aluminium. Installation to the hotel of your choice. Visit of the town, and the artisanal workshop making items made of horns, embroideries.

Day 2 :ANTSIRABE – MIANDRIVAZO (220km)

Visit around the town of Antsirabe, the Betafo village, and the Andraikiba lake, then continuation to Miandrivazo. Installation to the hotel then a small tour of the town. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 :Starting of cruise along the river

Start the cruise along the Tsiribihina river by local pirogue. You can visit some local village and see some kind of birds Camping for the night.

Day 4 : Cruise

Continuation of the cruise after breakfast, passing the gorge of the Tsiribihina where you will see 2 species of lemurs : Sifaka and the Lemur Fulvus which will come and drink water on the side of the river.

Walk to the cascade then climbing the typical forest of the region to reach the natural pool, swimming, camping for the night.

Day 5 : End of the river – ANTSIRARAKY

After Breakfast, continuation of the cruise, going through a cliff home to bats, you can also see crocodiles and tortoises.

Debarkment then transfer by zebu’ cart to the village of Antsiraraky. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 : ANTSIRARAKY - MORONDAVA

Departure to Morondava , crossing the famous baobabs alley , sacred baobab , lover’s baobab , and some sakalava tombs

Day 7 : MORONDAVA – TANA by plane

EXTENSION

The Kirindy Reserve is found at 60km North of Morondava, it can be visited in a one day excursion (camping for the night or at the hotel of your choice).
The park is home to many birds species, lemurs, varieties of reptiles, the turtles Erymnochelys Madagascariensis , the unique fresh-water turtle of the island, chameleons, the fosa, many species of tenrecs and mangoustas.
